Hello opera lovers!

here is another chance to get together and enjoy one of Donizetti´s masterpieces, "La Fille du Regiment", a great comic opera in 2 acts, that has beautiful music.

The Met performance for April 26th, 2008 has been sold out for a long time, same as the HD live broadcast, but the BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) still has 30+ tickets available for the HD performance, with the option to include a BRUNCH + discussion with guest speaker Marc A. Scorca, at the BAM cafe.

WHERE/WHEN WE WILL MEET:
Right near the ticket office, I will be wearing a New York Opera Meetup badge. Time: 11-11.15 AM. Brunch and talk starts at 11.30 AM.

HD screening starts at 1.30 pm.

I went to Met Open House yesterday. Natalie played excellent!!! Bravissimo!!! Also I go to see the premiere on 21st too.

Who attended?

    •  Wonderful opera shown in glorious LIVE HD at BAM. Both the singing and acting were marvelous adding up to one of my favorite performance of the year. I also love watching this in HD as opposed to the nosebleed seats at the Met because there were a lot of expressions on the actors that truly added to the humor. My only regret is that I have not been to more HD presentations in the past. While I still love going to Lincoln center, I highly recommend seeing a few operas next season in HD and you will see what the people who pay the big bucks get to see -- all for $20. BTW, the brunch, the informative lectures, and the interviews during intermission are all wonderful extras. BAM rocks!
    •  AWESOME
    •  Perhaps the finest performance at the MET this year: absolutely flawless!
    •  Wonderful brunch and opera; HD is extraordinary - highly recommend it.
